It’s important to know if your manuscript’s ready to send to agents, publishers or producers. If not, it can be a waste of your time and theirs. It can also be incredibly demoralizing. Your friends and family may not have sufficient experience to critique your work properly. We’ll say if your idea’s strong enough. We’ll explain what works and what doesn’t. We’ll offer constructive suggestions for putting problems right. Our recommendation will help you to shortcut the slush pile and get on to editors' desks. If we don’t feel able to recommend your work, we’ll tell you why.

We know how nerve-racking it is waiting for feedback, so you won’t be kept waiting long. You’ll get your critique back in one month or less. You won’t wait up to 8 weeks, as with some other consultancies.

We offer detailed readers' reports of fiction, non-fiction, film scripts and poetry at all stages of development.

Your editor may wish to pencil comments on your manuscript. For this reason, we ask for a stamped addressed envelope with your submission.

Email submissions
Manuscripts can be submitted via email – although there’s a small charge of 10p/page to cover printing costs. This saves our editors from staring at computer screens all day long.

Fast track service
If you’re in a hurry, we charge £75 for a turnaround of 2 weeks or less. This is a fraction of what other consultancies charge. We recently heard of one writer paying £200 extra for this service. Please check availability first.

Re-submitting manuscripts
Writers often redraft manuscripts after receiving our critiques. We offer a ‘speed-read’ at 75 per cent of the standard fee for each fresh appraisal.

Overseas Clients
We work with writers from all corners of the world. Distance is never a problem. Manuscripts and reports are sent via email to avoid delays. Payments can be made via cheque, BACS, or PayPal.
