Order Acceptance Policy

All orders received are subject to acceptance by Oxford Literary Consultancy and we reserve the right to reject any order without giving reasons. In the unusual event of rejection, we will refund or cancel any payments received via the payment method used to place the order.

Changes To Your Order

We aim to keep all our customers satisfied and stand by our products 100%. Payment is therefore requested upfront for all our products and services, in order to keep our administrative costs competitive.

All our physical products, such as DVD-sets, books or home study courses, are subject to a seven-day refund policy. If you receive a physical product and decide within seven days that this is not for you, please return the product in its original condition for a prompt and courteous refund. The product must be returned to us via recorded delivery and arrive within the seven days at our office at: Oxford Literary Consultancy, Suite 124, 94 London Road Oxford OX3 9FN.

Once your order has been for copywriting, editing, proof-reading or manuscript assessment this is considered final. Our staff usually set to work on manuscripts or copywriting immediately. Due to the intensive nature of the work, we will make an extra charge for any reasonable changes to your order that are requested.

You cannot cancel your order for editing, proof-reading or manuscript assessments once payment has been made.

Payment Problems

On occasion, bank-related payment failures may occur that prevent us from accepting your order immediately.

Occasionally, card details that are entered correctly and backed by sufficient funds are not validated because the card issuer is performing a random security check. We'll email or call you as soon as possible in such circumstances. If you receive a message telling you that payment has not been validated, please contact us immediately on +44 (0)1865 751004 to ensure your order is processed in good time.

Owing to time differences, payments made out of office hours, or problems getting hold of you via the contact details you've provided, there may occasionally be a slight delay.

Delivery & Shipping Policy

We pride ourselves on our efficiency and customer satisfaction.

If you have sent a manuscript to us via email, it will be returned to you via email. If you have sent a manuscript to us via postal delivery, it will be returned in the same manner. We will also send a confirmatory email, or give you a call, to inform you of this.

We deliver services such as proof-reading, editing and manuscript assessments within a one month and often sooner.

Where speed is imperative, we offer a fast-track service for editing, proof-reading and manuscript assessment, that guarantees completion of work within 14 days. There is an additional fee for this fast-track service – please see our Fees page for full details. In this instance, your manuscript should be returned to you within 14 days.

We aim to get all physical goods such as DVD sets, home study courses and books to you within 28 working days or sooner. Physical goods delivered in the UK should be with you within 7 working days. Physical goods delivered abroad may take up to 28 days.

Physical goods will be sent via first class standard mail where possible.

Refunds & Cancellations

At Oxford Literary Consultancy, we stand behind our services and programmes 100%. If your book, home-study programme or DVD set is not for you, simply return your item/s in their original condition within 7 days of receipt for a polite refund or exchange.

Payment is requested upfront for all mentoring, voice coaching or consultations. Cancellation of a mentoring session, voice coaching session or a consultation requires a minimum of 48 hours notice. If you leave the cancellation later than this we will regrettably still have to charge you the full amount. We have a waiting list of clients who can fill your place – but only if sufficient notice is given. Here at Oxford Literary Consultancy, we pride ourselves on integrity and working relationships built on trust. Out of respectful consideration for our staff and our time, please make sure you give us a minimum notice of 48 hours for cancellations. Provided that we are given 48 hours notice, you will be offered a new appointment at a later date for your mentoring session, voice coaching session or consultation.

No refunds are offered for copy-writing, editing, proof-reading or manuscript assessments. Payment is requested up-front for these and our staff usually set to work on them immediately. Due to the intensive nature of the work, no refund can be given – and indeed no-one has ever asked for a refund throughout the duration of our business.

In the exceptional and unusual circumstance that a refund is requested, you will need to provide proof from a reputable source that we had been professionally negligent. Discount vouchers for the same work to be done again with an alternative copywriter, proof-reader, editor or editorial consultant, at Oxford Literary Consultancy would then be offered.

Requests for a refund should be made within 7 days of receiving your copywriting, your edited or proof-read manuscript, or your manuscript assessment.
You cannot cancel your order for copy-writing, editing, proof-reading or manuscript assessments once payment has been made.

Our 100% satisfaction guarantee only applies to our physical products and aspects of our service that we have direct control over. The guarantee is not applicable to issues that are outside our control such as incorrect or incomplete addresses provided by the customer or refused deliveries.

A summary of our delivery resolution policy is shown below:

In the event of non-delivery of your item, we will redeliver your order digitally within 24 hours or within 7 days for physical products within the UK, or within 28 days for physical products outside the UK.
In the event of late delivery, we will offer compensation via discount vouchers.
In the event of damaged products being received, we will redeliver a replacement for the damaged product(s). Please note that it may be necessary to return the original product in order to receive the refund.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to fulfil your order, we will refund you in full.
If we send the wrong product, we will resend the correct product. Please note that it may be necessary to return the original product received.
Special Offers

At our discretion, from time to time, we may offer products at discounted prices. These offers are valid from the time that we introduce them to the end date of the offer and they cannot be used for purchases before the offer introduction date or after the offer end date.

The price of the product at the time of purchase shall 'prevail'. We are unable to offer special offer discounts for purchases that have already been made.
As our special offers are contingent on the availability of products, we may change the terms of special offers, or withdraw them altogether, at any time, and without prior notice.

We also reserve the right to offer different personalised special offers and promotions and it will therefore only be possible for the customer in receipt of the special offer to redeem the discount.
